RBCs

 Components of Blood

Blood is composed of four major components:

1. Red Blood Cells (RBCs) / Erythrocytes.

  • Function: Transport oxygen and carbon dioxide.
  • Contains hemoglobin, which binds to oxygen.
  • Lifespan: ~120 days.
  • Example: In anemia, RBC count is reduced, leading to fatigue.
